asciiart software package provides command line tool to turn images into ASCII art, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install asciiart
asciiart is installed in your system.
Make ensure the asciiart package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep asciiart *
You will get with asciiart package name, version, architecture and description in a table
